Meet the Founder

For Rose, teaching has always been a part of her life.

It is as organic as her love for children, which is why she has dedicated her career to guiding and enlightening little learners.

Rose grew up in Chicago with a big Mexican and Polish family. She started her teaching journey in Chicago and later moved to New York City in 2011. In New York, she worked as a babysitter, tutor, and teacher for young kids in Manhattan, focusing on STEM and leadership skills. In 2015, she found her true passion as a 2s classroom teacher at a Reggio Emilia-based preschool in Manhattan. Rose excelled at nurturing her students in this child-led, teacher-guided approach - the mainstays of the Reggio Emilia philosophy.

Fostering growth and development, Rose’s personal life saw much of the same joy and love as she gave birth to her son the summer of 2019. Rose took the following year to transition into motherhood, using the experiences and lessons from her classroom with her ever curious son. Observing him develop crucial skills, like engaging positively with his surroundings and enhancing imaginative play, made her realize what was lacking: a sense of COMMUNITY! It was during those difficult months of the pandemic, with an eleven month old and without family nearby, that she would create a space for parents also needing to connect and socialize with their children in an open-ended creative learning space.

Rose’s love for teaching and community coupled with her enduring commitment to help fellow city kids ignite their curiosity is what truly makes Rose and A Rosie Day program a welcoming place for all learners and their families.

A Rosie Day is built on the idea that it takes a village!
