The Reggio Emilia philosophy places immense value on the child as the focal point of their own educational journey, emphasizing that they are not passive recipients of knowledge waiting to be filled. Instead, children are encouraged to explore their interests, delve into concepts, and develop skills at their own rhythm. This approach is often associated with the concept of the '100 languages of children, a testament to the myriad ways in which children express and comprehend the world around them.

To make mistakes is part of life, and learning new solutions to problems engenders confidence and creativity. Through the Reggio Emilia philosophy, the ideas learned over the course of continuing the children’s ideas of what life is, and how to interact in it, brings ownership, confidence and curiosity to their many endeavors.

A Rosie Day studio is Peanut and Nut-Free. This means that it strictly prohibits any person from eating and/or taking out products that contain tree nuts or any variety of nuts. Examples of tree nuts include, but are not limited to, walnut, almond, hazelnut, cashew, pistachio, and Brazil nuts. It is important to note that these tree nuts should not be confused or grouped together with the peanut, which is classified as a legume, but still prohibited. Additionally, sesame is also prohibited from being eaten or taken out within the studio to ensure a safe environment for everyone.

When exploring a specific topic during the semester, teaching artists, family members, or local experts/professionals may join a class and offer their expertise on the subject. For example, if the students are creating a menu, a local baker may be invited to lend their expertise, supporting the little learner’s investigative pursuits!
